What is a Server?
A server is a computer that runs 24/7 on a high-speed connection in a datacenter. You connect to it remotely (via SSH for Linux, RDP for Windows) and use it exactly like your own laptop — except it’s always on, has a fixed public IP, and is engineered for performance and uptime. We offer two types of servers:- Virtual Private Server (VPS) — a virtual machine running on shared physical hardware, with guaranteed CPU, RAM, and disk allocated to your VM.
- Dedicated Server — a full physical machine, with all hardware reserved for you alone.
Why Use a Server?
Running your workload on a Quantum server, instead of your own laptop, gives you four big advantages:1. Better connectivity & lower latency
Our servers sit in Frankfurt, Germany — one of the largest internet exchange points in Europe (DE-CIX). That means:- Low ping to most major websites and APIs (sneaker sites, social platforms, marketplaces, ticketing).
- Stable peering with the big carriers — fewer packet drops than a residential connection.
- Symmetric 10 Gbps uplinks — your home fibre is fast on downloads, but a server’s upload speed is what matters for automation and scraping.
2. Always on
Your laptop sleeps. Your home Wi-Fi drops. Power goes out. None of that matters when your workload runs on a server — it just keeps going. Cron jobs, scrapers, bots, Discord automations, monitoring tasks: they all run continuously, even when you close your laptop.3. Real resources, separated from your daily work
Heavy automation (multiple browser instances, large datasets, parallel scrapers) chews through CPU and RAM. Running them on your daily machine means your laptop slows down and burns out faster. A Quantum server takes that load off your hands.4. A static, professional identity
Your home IP changes, gets flagged by anti-bot systems, and ties everything you do to your real location. A server gives you a clean, stable public IP — often the foundation that proxies, accounts, and automations sit on top of.Common Use Cases
People typically use Quantum servers for:- Sneaker / ticketing bots — proximity to drop sites + always-on uptime.
- Web scraping & crawling at scale — many parallel workers without melting your laptop.
- Discord bots and automation — needs 24/7 uptime; a server is the standard pick.
- Account farming & management — stable IP identity for long-lived sessions.
- Hosting personal services — VPNs, dashboards, internal tools, small APIs.
- Game servers — Minecraft, Rust, CS, and similar self-hosted games.
- Trading bots & market monitoring — low latency to exchanges and feeds matters.
- Development & testing environments — a clean, isolated machine you can break and rebuild.
VPS or Dedicated — How to Choose
Pick a VPS if…
You want it ready in 2 minutes, a predictable monthly price, and the freedom to upgrade later. Great for most workloads up to medium scale.
Pick a Dedicated server if…
You need maximum raw performance, no shared cores, or specific hardware features (lots of RAM, fast single-thread CPU, large disks).
| Need | Pick |
|---|---|
| Spin up fast, can resize later, light-to-medium load | VPS |
| Heavy sustained load, no noisy neighbors, full hardware access | Dedicated |
| Tightest budget | VPS Plank |
| Maximum performance per dollar at the top end | Dedicated |
What’s Included with Every Server
Every Quantum server, VPS or dedicated, comes with:- Full root / Administrator access — install anything.
- Choice of OS — Ubuntu, Debian, or Windows Server 2022.
- Public IPv4 address — extendable with extra IPs.
- Web console (VNC / KVM) — recover the machine even if you lose SSH access.
- One-click password reset from the Dashboard.
- Live metrics for CPU, RAM, disk, and network.
- Frankfurt datacenter — DE-CIX peering, low EU latency.
Key Takeaways
- A server is an always-on machine in our datacenter — much more capable than running workloads on your laptop.
- Frankfurt location means low latency to most European and major global websites.
- VPS is the right starting point for most workloads; Dedicated is for the heaviest, most performance-sensitive ones.
- Both come with full root access, your choice of OS, and Dashboard tools to manage them.
